Nature, sea, history & archaeology are the ingredients for the perfect holiday & experience to be savoured away from the hustle & bustle of the city. This itinerary provides a relaxing experience in contact with alpacas, very docile animals, which you can caress in an uncontaminated nature on the gentle hills of the Lazio coast. After lunch in Civitavecchia you will have the opportunity to visit the Taurine thermal baths, among the best-preserved structures outside Rome. This archaeological site is on a hill immersed in a green area a few miles away from the centre of Civitavecchia & it’s known as Trajan Baths, from the name of the Roman emperor founder of the city.
Inside the complex, as in the Baths of Caracalla in Rome, there were many other services & facilities such as a library, a massage room, bedrooms & a gym. As places of great social gathering, they were frequented by illustrious personalities & ordinary people, including the Legionaries returning from the war.
In the evening you can enjoy one of the best luxury retreats on the coast: the villa that once was the property of Jean Paul Getty.
Having the opportunity to stay here creates a whirlwind of emotion and joy that borders on the unreal. You can choose to sip a glass of champagne while watching the waves collide on the rocks, or relax in the pleasant swimming pool, rather than visit the marvellous Roman maritime villa that emerges in the basement of the residence, an imperial possession.
The following day we have the chance to discover the spectacular necropolis of Cerveteri, knowing better the history of the Etruscans & after a delicious lunch, you can admire the panorama from Tuscania, admiring the enchanting romantic churches.
The last evening in La Posta Vecchia will leave you with the amazing sensation to have been in an enchanting world.
