Experience Rome At Its Best
Are you an early bird? Have you ever dreamed of taking beautiful pictures of Rome with nobody around? Then take a beautiful city stroll of Rome at dawn with our expert guides. We designed this tour to avoid the beating sun, the traffic and the crowd so that you can discover and capture the magic of an extraordinary city when it is unusually empty and quiet. While this is geared to early risers, it is also great for anyone who wants to get on European time, and shake off the jet lag from a transatlantic flight. And, it’s perfect for those who want to enjoy the refreshing air of the early morning, before the pelting of the Roman Summer Sun.
This tour includes the highlights of downtown Rome. We will start our experience tour with a complimentary breakfast near the Spanish Steps in a selected location. Then we will begin our journey in the cool fresh hours when the city is still waking up. Not only will you learn about the many piazzas, fountains and monuments that characterize the city of Rome, but you will also have the chance to take beautiful photographs of Rome with the most perfect natural light and, first and foremost, with nobody in your frame.
We’ll walk to the Trevi Fountain, one of Rome’s most famous fountains, and certainly its largest. It is renowned for its beauty, and for the scene in Federico Fellini’s La Dolce Vita, where Anita Ekberg and Marcello Mastroianni wade in its waters. Legend has it that if you toss a coin in the fountain in the right way–back to the fountain, coin tossed with your right hand over your left shoulder–you will soon return to this magic place. We will proceed in our city stroll of Rome at Dawn to the Pantheon, a temple whose construction was begun before Western history was split into two by the birth of Jesus, and is still one of the best preserved ancient buildings in Rome. Located in the beautiful Piazza della Rotonda, the Pantheon is breathtaking.
At the end of our experience tour of Rome, we will see the two most famous and enchanting piazzas of Rome, made even more magic by the early morning light hitting the beautiful buildings and monuments: This tour includes the highlights of downtown Rome. with Bernini’s famous Fountain of the Four Rivers (if you are an art lover check out our Bernini and Caravaggio Tour), and the Campo de’ Fiori with the statue of the philosopher Giordano Bruno. In the early morning of February 17, 1600, Giordano Bruno arrived in Campo de’ Fiori on a mule. Stripped of his clothes, and silenced by a leather bridle to prevent him from shouting out heresies in his final moments, the philosopher was burnt alive at the stake.
