From Dark to Light: From Underground Rome to the Magnificence of Vatican City — 2 Days
A not-to-be-missed two-day tour that follows in the steps of Christianity, from its founding to its definitive consecration. You’ll visit the places where the first Christians came together to pray and where they buried their dead, from the time when they were still ostracized by the dominating pagan population. It is an itinerary that will lead you into the dark reaches of the Catacombs and into a Roman Basilica of the fourth century, beneath a fine medieval Basilica of the 12th century. You will then visit the resplendent Papal Basilicas, including St. Peter’s Basilica and the Holy Stairs, but you will also see the Sistine Chapel and the Vatican Museums. You will have the opportunity to walk through the Holy Doors, opened for this extraordinary Jubilee Year at the behest of Pope Francis.
