Yes, if you want to see the Ancient Rome (Colosseum) and Vatican City (with St Peter’s Basilica and Sistine Chapel) in one day, you can do it. You have three options:
Consider high-quality small group tours: We have a 3-hour long small-group tour of the Colosseum starting at 8:30am, and a small-group Vatican tour starting at 1:30pm. So, if you can book our Colosseum Experience in the morning and our Vatican Experience tour in the afternoon. In this way you would still have some time to walk about Rome at your pleasure and see all the highlights of Rome. Just please make sure you are not late at the meeting point as the groups will move on time.
Private Full Day Tour of Rome: As an alternative option, consider our 7-hour long private tour of Rome in One Day, which includes Colosseum and Ancient Rome, best piazzas and fountains of Rome city center, and Vatican City (including Vatican museums, Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basilica). This private tour of Rome also includes a one way transfer from Rome city center to Vatican City.
Shore Excursion to Rome: If you are a cruise passenger arriving in Civitavecchia, you can purchase our all-inclusive tour of Rome with private transfer and driver, guide and admission tickets included. You will visit the ancient city with the Colosseum, the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel, and the city center with the main piazzas and fountains that made Rome so famous. Private vehicle and driver will be at your disposal all day. We will pick you up at the deck and then take you back at the port of Civitavecchia before the boarding procedures of your ship.
Group tours leave on time from the meeting point, so it is important to arrive 15 minutes prior to the tour start, for the check-in. Please consider that we have a timed entrance in most sites, so the group will leave on time from the meeting point. Please consider that there is no refund for no-show and missed tours.
After the booking you will receive a confirmation email with the voucher that you need to bring with you on the day of the tour. On it, you will find meeting point address, detailed directions and meeting point pictures. Leave on time to reach the meeting point. If you are having trouble finding the meeting point or you realize that you are running late, immediately call the field operation manager at +39 327 241 8766 as soon as possible or send an email to [email protected]
Before you cancel, please check our refund policy. We have no refund for missed tours and last minute cancellations, as we pre-purchase admission tickets, book headsets ahead and the number of guides needed. However, we would make every effort to reschedule your missed tour if possible. Rescheduling is subject to availability. If a later tour or next-day tour is available the office will ask you to cover the expenses for the admission tickets that we need to newly purchase. To check whether rescheduling is possible please get in touch with the office at [email protected]
Printing out the voucher is a good idea because you can read more clearly the directions to reach the meeting point. However, printing the voucher is not strictly necessary for the check-in as a smartphone screenshot would do.
The only thing you need is the voucher received in our confirmation email at the time of reservation. If you book online and you don’t receive Admission tickets for all sites are included in the tour price. We have collective tickets and these are handled by the guide or the field assistant. You need nothing but your voucher.
